There were some spots where the left hand paused, letting the melody stand on its own which I really liked. The walking bass is very well done, and to my non-jazz ears the melody was swinging really well. I’m not familiar with the head so I actually don’t know when the transition happened, although I think it’s at 0:47. Nice job, this sounds great! The improv flowed very smoothly from the head. I'm fairly comfortable and can play without strain or pain, it just looks awkward. Until then this setup works (until it doesn't). Not that it matters, I really want to replace the digital with a grand in the not too distant future once I fully retire. I'm probably going to experiment and see if putting some 3/4" thick plywood underneath the feet will lift the keyboard to a better height. I think the next height is 32 or 33 inches to the tops of the keys, which is ridiculous and something that never should have passed the engineering or design stage. The built-in adjusters in the X stand are too much of a step between heights. You’re well on the way after only 2 weeks - congratulations! (I measured my Yamaha’s key tops and found they are 29.5 inches from the floor - so I think you could safely raise your keyboard just a bit for comfort.) As you say, your minuet could use more polish, but (like everything I’ve ever submitted) it is a work-in-progress. So pleased that you didn’t sit this one out.
